Motion Amplification using RDI Technologies’ Iris M and Iris MX enables quick and easy analysis of slow and high speed machinery and equipment. Similar to ODS, this technology allows for visualization of machinery and structures, drastically reducing the time it takes to assess condition and motion.  With frame rates up to 29000 Frames Per Second we can test for high speed, as well as harmonic activity in high speed equipment.

RDI’s patented technology measures deflection, displacement, movement and vibration not visible to the human eye. It utilizes video camera technology in conjunction with software and processing algorithms to extract useful data. The technology transforms every pixel into a sensor capable of measuring vibration and motion with high level accuracy. The user simply draws a box in the image to measure the time waveform and frequency spectrum.

The resulting video allows us to visualize motion. The camera can measure and quantify motion throughout any structural assets within its view.  Motion Amplification is a proprietary video processing algorithm that detects subtle imperceptible motion then amplifies it for visualization with the human eye. The process enhances our perception and understanding of the complex components and interactions of motion.
